People often ask me what I mean by when I say ‘stay present’. It’s about being fully aware of the moment you’re in, not off in your head thinking about the past or making up stories about the future.

Leela Sinha recently wrote a short but wonderfully evocative poem that I find is a beautiful call to stay present, so I asked if I could share it and she said yes. If you like it, go check out her website, Body of Pleasure.

I should stop
standing on the beach and
listening to the waves and
The one lone seagull
Up after bedtime
I should
go back to my cats
and my book. But this
Is too enchanting
To let go.
